This page is a gallery of images of the prototyping process.
Here I developed some physical prototyping skills, something new due my graphic design background. I learned alternative ways to prototype in relation to electronics: molding, scenarios, staging, movies, etc.

Mobile phones shells made of plaster, silicon, biodegradable plastic (Materbi) and ice were made. The main function of these objects, including the half vase (see animation at right) was to test ideas and to communicate the concept.

With these objects I could check the audience reaction, receptivity and evolve the solutions.

Video scenarios

"new eyes"
 Mov (aprox. 18 Mb)

"from dust to dust"
 Mov (aprox. 3,5 Mb)

:: molding

Making the negative mould of silicon and pouring melted biopolymer in the mould.

Melting and pouring biopolymer in the mould.

Adding graphics to the mould and fixing it in the cutted vase.

Pouring plaster and the resulting mould.

:: simulating

Sprouts of flowers.

Vases with labels.

Mobile phone made of ice and with a seed. See video here.

:: staging

Vase with flower roots nourishing from the mould and image in detail.

Adapted mobile phone with a visible seed.
